Pelikan Maki-e Unique Collection 2014 - Auction
Pelikan Unique Collection Auction 2014

For the second time Pelikan organizes an online auction for the pens from the Maki-e Unique Collection. La Couronne du Comte is proud to have been selected as one of the two pen specialists in the Netherlands to participate in this extraordinary event.

About the collection
For the Maki-e Unique Collection 2014, Pelikan has chosen 17 unique pieces, created by renowned Maki-e artists in Japan. Pelikan guarantees that these precise fountain pens have never been part of a Pelikan Collection and will never become one. Every fountain pen of the Unique Collection is signed by the artist himself. Just below the signature, as a special sign for the Unique Collection, the artist has added the special Kao-sign in red, drawn by hand with the Maki-e technique. Whenever you see this sign on a Pelikan fountain pen, you will know that this is one of the rare fountain pens of the Pelikan Maki-e Unique Collection. With the honed experience of decades and excellent craftsmanship, the fountain pen model Souveraen is produced in Germany and then decorated in Japan, thus creating a perfectly crafted product that is more than the sum of each part... a little bit of magic has slipped into it.

How does the auction work?
The auction works in four easy steps:

1. You sign up
While signing up, you also choose a retailer, in this case La Couronne du Comte, who will act as your partner after the end of the auction. La Couronne du Comte will sell the fountain pen to you, and we will also receive your prepayment after the auction. By signing up, you confirm that you are willing to prepay the value of the pen and that you are able to pay the total amount. You can register by clicking here.

2. You choose
Choose carefully which pen you wish to buy. On the product page of each fountain pen, you can see when the auction starts. The very first auction will start on November 3rd. Every week day, another auction follows, there are 17 auctions in total. Each auction runs a full week and the hammer always falls at 2PM CEST (Berlin time).

3. You bid
As soon as the auction starts, you can enter your maximum bid on the Pelikan website. The price will go up in steps of 50 Euro. If nobody else bids as high as you, your maximum bid will remain your secret. On the product page of each fountain pen, you can see when the auction ends. Make sure you don't enter your last bid at the last minute as the electronic transfer time in this global auction can vary, and we don't want you to miss your dream by a second!

4. You win
If you have offered the highest bid, a preliminary contract is concluded and you will get a confirmation via e-mail. La Couronne du Comte will get the same e-mail in cc. Together with La Couronne du Comte, you will arrange the prepayment and delivery details.

This year, every fountain pen will be directly shipped from Japan, therefore it might have to cross some borders to get to you! The retailer La Couronne du Comte will only hand over the pen after receipt of your full prepayment. Now, you can celebrate and enjoy the feeling of being one of the few people who own a Unique Pelikan Maki-e fountain pen!
