Fountain pen perfect, beautiful, smooth texture and feel. Only minus--it doesn't come with a blotting paper. But other than that, it's a classic.

The Sheaffer Prelude pen (M, shiny black) is once of the most pleasurable surprises I've ever received. I bought this pen without first testing it, or even knowing anything about the brand. My only guide were good reviews this brand received on fountain pen online groups and blogs. And, indeed, what a pen! Aside from it's impeccably stylish and classic design, it is luxuriously heavy, long and smooth, and has smart "finger dimples" that make the gripping very comfortable. But the nib--the nib is really something else; not only it's incredibly smooth, but it has almost a calligraphic effect on the lettering, as if it were slightly flattened. And together with the Sheaffer somewhat thinnish ink (blue-black) used with a converter, the result is stunning and very old-world.

I could not be happier with this wonderful calligraphy pen. I was interested in purchasing a calligraphy pen not because I'm learning calligraphy, but because I'm a writer who adores the beautiful effect of a flat-nib fountain pen. And indeed, I was not disappointed; I bought both the 1.1 and 1.5 mom, and the letters come out as beautiful as Elizabeth I's signature (especially the wider nib), and the nib feels velvety and smooth against the paper (of course, I only use Clairefontaine). Thank you!

Het heeft iets decadents, een vulpen als highliter/marker maar het werkt nog beter dan verwacht. Ik ben er heel blij mee. En de service van La Couronne du Comte was weer, zoals bekend mag worden verondersted, uitstekend.

I purchased two bottles of this line recently. I am quite satisfied with the ink, especially the red one which Pelikan denominates as Ruby. To my own eyes it appears to emit a slightly ocre tone, making the color tend subtly towards the brown. It hence renders the ink to be perfectly usable even in office/business situations as it does not radiate funkiness at all.
Furthermore, the glass bottle has been designed with surprisingly aesthetic lines, turning its mere placement on my desktop into an eye-catching focal point for many a passers-by. In case this sort of thing is a source of merriment for you, you might also take a look at the Mont Blanc and Caran d'Ache bottles.

The Pelikan "Edekstein-Jade" is a very good one. It brings great tonality upon the paper
with great shades of light green depending on the impession of the nib.
So it´s not only the beautifuf packaging that impressed by itself so do the ink and it´s easily flowing.
My point of view: high recommendabel ink much better than the regular ink from Pelikan!
