The Burlington Fountain Pen (Limited Edition) [ON-BURLING] |
Commissioned by the owners of Burlington Arcade, this elegant and stylish pen has been issued in a worldwide limited edition of just 75.
Perfectly balanced, The Burlington is a delight to write with. The body is in high density black acrylic, whereas the push-fit cap is milled from Sterling Silver and features the stylish 'Night & Day' pattern popular in the 1920s. A sterling silver band around the top of the barrel bears large hallmarks including The Queen's Diamond Jubilee mark only available during 2012.
The Burlington celebrates the world’s first shopping mall, Burlington Arcade, which was built in Piccadilly, London, under the orders of Lord George Cavendish to provide a safe place for his wife and her friends to shop in peace. It was opened in 1819 and was policed by former members of Lord Cavendish’s regiment, the 10th Hussars, who kept law and order in the local streets. Known as ‘Beadles’ they have remained a constant presence in Burlington Arcade and even today you’ll find them patrolling the Arcade in top hats and frock-coats.
Put ‘pen to paper’ and you’ll be amazed at the smoothness of the exclusive Onoto #3 nib in 18 ct gold. The nibs are available in standard line widths, special nibs like italic, stub or oblique can be ground to your exact specification by one of the UK's leading nib-masters at a slightly higher price. The pen uses standard international cartridges or the supplied converter.
Like all modern Onoto pens, the pen comes with a lifetime guarantee.
