Delta's Adivasi fountain pen is part of the Indigenous People collection: a collections based on the native peoples of several areas around the world. The Adivasi (from Sanskrit ‘adi’ = first and ‘vasi’ = inhabitant) are the descendants of India’s indigenous people who were evicted from their territories during the Indo-Aryan migration (from 1500 to 500 B.C.) and had to move to isolated hills and forests.

The writing instruments in Delta’s limited edition (1,857 fountain pens) dedicated to these indigenous people - the tenth in the collection - are shaped on a lathe in a special mother-of-pearl resin. The colors of the Adivasi home lands (bronze and green) and of their traditional costumes (red and ivory) adorn all pens. A large ring engraved with an Adivasi motif decorates the cap, and a second one, with another engraving, the body of the pen. A traditional drawing is featured on the top of the cap and the clip is decorated with a 3-dimensional stylisation of a historical sculpture. All accents are in sterling (925) silver.

The engraving on the 18-carat nib represents a design used on their traditional costumes. The nib is available in several sizes. The fountain pen uses a converter or cartridges.
